THE COMEDY STAR IS READY FOR THE TERRIBLE TWOS
Celia Pacquola HOW MOTHERHOOD CHANGED ME

Kids were never really on Celia Pacquola’s radar. With a busy career as a standup comedian that often took her on the road touring, it seemed as though a baby wouldn’t really fit into her lifestyle – and she was fine with that.

“Motherhood is very off-brand for me,” she once shared with Australian Birth Stories. “It’s always been a career for me and the lifestyle is hard; I’m touring and it’s just not common to see female comedians with kids.”

But when, at the age of 37, Celia found herself suddenly single, she started to reassess things. It was during this period of life change that Celia, now 41, met her partner, Irish photographer Dara Munnis, and before she knew it, they were expecting.

“I met my partner online in Melbourne lockdown and had a relationship without actually meeting for three months,” she said. “When we finally met in person, I was pregnant two months later.”
