FIREFIGHTING GOATS? No kidding!

Hungry goats have been chomping their way to the top of the payroll to eliminate a fire hazard.

Queensland Rail certainly weren't kidding when they offered the fleet of 15 goats a three-month contract to act as living lawnmowers on two hectares of overgrown bushland near Tully railway station, in the state's far north.

The inaccessible area had become a bushfire risk leading into summer after dry grass reached two metres in height.
