CHARLIE ALBONE SHARES WAYS TO GET RID OF COMMON HOUSE PLANT INSECTS

PEST CONTROL

Like the plants in our gardens, our indoor jungles can suffer from pests. When you add pests to the humidity found indoors, you can quickly get an infestation. Here are some common ones and how to avoid them.

1 Scale

Scale insects are tiny sap-sucking bugs that look like little round scabs on the leaf's surface. The juveniles move around the plant, but adults get a waxy skin and stay in one spot. This creates a substance known as honey dew, which brings in ants as they feed off it, and can also be a cause of sooty mould. Simply pick off the adults and apply a horticultural oil (such as eco oil or neem oil) to target juveniles.
