"I don't think anything else in the world has the power to hold the spirit of the person so much as jewellery does," says Francesca Amfitheatrof. As Louis Vuittons' Artistic Director for Watches and Jewellery, she firmly believes that jewellery and its wearer are enigmatically connected. Spirit is Amfitheatrof's fourth high jewellery collection, carrying on the design codes of the house in Spirit Chapter II, comprising 30 unique pieces that resonate with a distinctive graphic energy. Like Chapter I, the latest collection set across four universes reflects the values of Louis Vuitton - Destiny, Liberty, Fantasy, and Radiance.
Destiny highlights the regal beauty of rubies, scarlet stones radiating mysterious power. A total of 10 strong yet delicate designs tell a story of feminine strength as the Destiny universe anchors itself in geometric repetition. Each style incorporates the symbolic Louis Vuitton V, channelling the dynamism of the house as it forwards its legacy and vision into the future.
The Destiny necklace features 34 rubies that took three years to source. Each is carefully colour-matched to retain uniformity in hue, intensity and purity. The viewer's gaze falls to a fiery 3.13-carat pear-cut pigeon blood ruby suspended from an LV Monogram Star cut diamond.
