Little Luca possesses many admirable qualities, young as he is, but sitting still doesn't seem to be the five-year-old's forte. Grinning cheekily, the energetic youngster tirelessly demonstrates his tumbling skills on the sofa as his mother, Ung Yiu Lin, has a tete-a-tete with us during a lull in the day's shooting. Calling for his mother's attention, the charming boy requests Yiu Lin to film him practising his tumbling. A few takes later, he is finally content with, well, the content and beams proudly.
Luca has moments ago finished having his pictures taken alongside his father, Azlan Iskandar, and no doubt is still exhilarated by the shoot. It's boosted the young child's already enviable energy, which never seems to be depleted no matter how much he runs around the house.
Embodying the persona of the superhero that adorns the cup he has happily sipped from earlier as he sat at the dining table enjoying his breakfast, he even repeatedly climbs on and off the shelves that double as a partition between the kitchen and the staircase that leads into the open living space. "That is why we don't have any photo frame there," Yiu Lin remarks drily, watching her little 'Spider-Man' navigate the empty squares and rectangles. He then crouches in one of the boxes, whining to his paternal grandmother, who has been busy baking banana bread, to feed him some of it. Holding back her smile, she gently admonishes him to be patient as the bread is still in the oven. Luca finally decides he's had his fill of climbing and sulking. He cheerfully skips to the living room and switches on the projector to watch his favourite cartoon shows before his older sisters return home and the cover shoot will resume.
