Last April, the local fashion press picked up on a certain Singapore-based, Indonesian entrepreneur who received the exceedingly rare invitation to the hallowed Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party. The only person from our little island to nab the hottest ticket in Hollywood on Oscars night, she gave editors a peek into the evening, from getting ready to the A-listers she rubbed shoulders with.
Who is she? According to reports, Nina Kaginda relocated to Singapore a few years ago from Jakarta and is an investor in the food and beverage industry. The mother of two is also a regular on the global fashion and high jewellery circuit, as seen on her buzzing Instagram page. And thanks to Harry Winston, we are about to uncover more of this glamour queen.
Petite and flawless with nary a speck of makeup, Nina is not quite what I'd imagine. If her social media posts were any indication, I expected her to be posh and reserved, but that's far from the truth. In person, she is vivacious, cheerful and incredibly easy to talk to. As she gets primped and preened for our cover shoot, I ask her what she's been busy with of late.
"F&B has now taken a backseat since I founded FloWhite Beauty this year," says Nina, adding that her new bodycare brand had a successful launch in March. "I wanted to create something that everyone can use every day. People may be more reluctant to try new skincare brands, but bodycare is more accessible. Our products are also affordably priced and deliver the same benefits as their more expensive counterparts in the same category."
