The concept continued to evolve until 1958 with a "curved oval" watch, whose slightly curved case fit the contours of the wrist. Already flaunting the distinctive volume and signature details that Cartier devotees today are familiar with a domed crystal, dial with Roman numerals and smooth gold ribbon, this watch was aptly named the Baignoire (French for bathtub) in 1973 and has since taken on various forms.
The latest 2023 iterations are available in two new versions - with a diamond-paved white gold bezel contrasting against a black patent leather strap and in yellow gold. The first celebrates pure elegance through the delicacy of its proportions, while for the second, the timepiece is transformed into a jewellery watch, as seen here, with a high-polish bangle in an all-new look and feel. Also offered in rose, yellow or white gold with pavé diamonds, the creation is made even more sensual with its curved case that sits as close to the wrist as possible.
