ONE OF THE go-to names for globetrotters, Samsonite embarked on an unprecedented eco-initiative in March this year: the company opened its first store constructed with sustainable alternative materials at Suntec City, Singapore.
Subrata Dutta, president of Samsonite Asia Pacific and Middle East, who officiated at the opening, was undeniably proud. A stalwart of the company—having served in the same role from 2016 to December 2020, before rejoining the brand in October 2022—Dutta is determined to further explore the role retail can play in preserving our environment.
Retail should serve as a catalyst for driving environmental awareness and action. It has the power to influence consumer behaviour and promote sustainable practices.
