Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama
A decade since the maison’s first collaboration with the legendary Japanese artist, the lofty codes of infinity are once again writ large in the Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama collection. Kusama’s signature motifs – from painted polka dots to mirrored orbs – are splashed across an assortment of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, trunks and fragrances.
In a brilliant display of savoir-faire, each polka dot has been created through a complex serigraphy technique, as in the case of Kusama’s infinity dots embossed on the Twist, or enlarged psychedelic florals on the Capucines bag. Stay tuned, for the maison’s dabbling into the sublime extends with another drop. Set to be released at the end of March, it will incorporate another of Kusama’s signature motifs, the pumpkin.
#FR2NCK MULLER Vanguard
Watch enthusiasts with a yen for flamboyance will be piqued by Franck Muller’s latest exclusive timepiece. The independent Swiss brand has enlisted Tokyo-based streetwear label #FR2 for #FR2NCK MULLER Vanguard, a stylish sports watch dressed in stark black and white, with the fashion label’s trademark copulating bunnies motif on the dial. Short for Fxxking Rabbits, #FR2 was founded in 2014 by Japanese streetwear maven Ryo Ishikawa. Though chic and whimsical, the watch is also robust and performance-focused, housed in a cutting-edge carbon and glass fibre composite case that is tough yet extremely light. On the inside, the #FR2NCK MULLER Vanguard runs on an in-house automatic movement with 42-hour power reserve. Exclusive to the Southeast Asian market, the watch is limited to 800 pieces.
