But both Enciso and Dichaves interpreted the word “party” differently—they had their own party, as they made a bubble just for the two of them. From jokes and gossip to witty words and insights, they talked about everything that night. It was the start of their relationship, which ended abruptly after three months.
The couple, however, met again in 2017. Unlike the uncertainty of their short-lived romance four years prior, they knew they were meant to be together for the long run the second time around. “We weren’t starting from scratch. We were taking off from the beautiful friendship we had developed through the years,” Encisco shares.
After two years, they started talking about the future, but it would take another two years for Dichaves to propose in Palawan officially.
They started booking their dream suppliers two days later, fearing they would be unavailable on the dates they wanted to marry. “When we secured them, we took a short break to relish the high and happiness of being engaged,” says Enciso. From then on, the engaged couple said everything happened fast, with many overwhelming days.
“I heard from friends who got married that you’d get to truly know your partner through the stressful planning stage of a wedding. I’m glad that I found out that Alf and I were a team,” the bride says.
They wed on the weekend of March 26 in Christ The King Church, Green Meadows. Initially, the couple wanted an out-of-town destination wedding. “But we knew both our families wanted all our loved ones who missed the wedding of our siblings to be there.”
