Five years ago, Hermès made its debut in beauty with Rouge Hermès, a collection of lipsticks that signified more than just a bold expansion into cosmetics—it was a statement of craftsmanship and artistry. In the years since, the maison has continued to expand its cosmetics repertoire with new launches across different makeup categories.
Now, in 2025, Hermès reaffirms its place in beauty halls all over the world with the launch of the Hermès Beauty Rouge Brillant Silky lipstick. This moment holds particular significance for Gregoris Pyrpylis, the creative director of Hermès Beauty since 2022. “I joined Hermès after the launch of Rouge Hermès, so this is my first lipstick for Hermès,” he shares in a virtual interview with Tatler Singapore. “It’s very personal for me as well [because] it’s something that I worked on from A to Z. Even though I love the Rouge Hermès of 2020, my heart is part of this new creation.”
Founded in 1837 as a harness workshop, Hermès has become a global symbol of luxury, known for its exceptional leather goods and iconic silk scarves. With its foray into beauty, the maison applies the same meticulous artistry that defines its leathers and silks, transforming cosmetics into objects of desire that go beyond adornment. More than a means of enhancing one’s appearance, makeup is for Hermès an expression of individuality.
