Considered one of the most underrated tropical paradise in Vietnam, Phu Quoc has quickly emerged as “one of the country’s premier tourists spots” in just a few years, says Ben Schumacher, the vice president of operations for South East Asia & Pacific Rim at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
Tatler visited the island this October for the grand opening of Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc and had the opportunity to take in all that the island has to offer. A short one-hour flight from Ho Chi Minh City, the island enchants tourists with an array of activities and experiences. From its charming beaches to family-friendly experiences, there are plenty to see and do.
For one, Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc is the largest Wyndham Grand hotel in the world, boasting 1,378 rooms, 21 villas, a casino, an indoor cinema, a shopping street, and more. We arrived late in the evening and were not able to make out the grand scale exterior of the hotel, but the spacious lobby and the shopping street going across its middle section offer some clues.
And despite the late hour, we were treated to a hearty meal at the Nautilus restaurant. The all-day dining restaurant offers a variety of cuisines, from Asian to European.
