Since emerging from Kilgore, Texas, at 14, Ally Venable, aka “Texas Honey,” has made a name for herself amid a swarming blues circuit. Now 10 years after the release of Venable’s debut EP, Wise Man, it’s hard to believe she’s only 23. Moreover, as she prepares to release her fifth record, Real Gone, Venable seems more like a weathered veteran than a fresh-faced kid.
