FAITH FG20RE MARS ELECTRO, FG20HCE EARTH CUTAWAY ELECTRO & FG20NCE NEPTUNE CUTAWAY ELECTRO £2,029, £2,099 & £2,109
What You Need To Know
1. Hasn’t Faith been around for more than 20 years?
No, Faith is the brand name of UK distributor Barnes & Mullins, whose neighbour in Oswestry, Shropshire, is Patrick James Eggle. Though he switched to solely producing electrics, Pat’s lasting gift to the acoustic world is that he also designs Faith instruments. This year marks 20 years of their collaboration.
2. Look at that octave inlay!
Sean de Burca is not only one of Faith’s roster of musicians, he’s also a talented artist and designed the exquisite tree-of-life inlay, hand-inlaid using abalone and mother-of-pearl.
3. Are the tops of the guitars cedar?
No, the colour comes from the process of ‘torrefying’ the Canadian Sitka spruce. The sonic effect of this slow roasting is said to be like playing a guitar that sounds like it’s been bedded in for 20 years.
