The Last of Us kicks off the year for epic genre television and there is plenty more where it came from flowing down various streaming-platform pipelines. The starting dates for most of these shows are still up in the air – and a few may not arrive until 2024 – but here’s a look at what’s on the horizon.

THE THREE-BODY PROBLEM
The first result from Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss signing a massive production deal with Netfl ix is this sci-fi epic based on the first of Chinese novelist Liu Cixin’s Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy. The book told the story of an astrophysicist who helps aliens invade Earth. (Netflix)
MASTERS OF THE AIR
Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are among the producers for this series that follows their earlier World War II series Band of Brothers and The Pacific. It’s a drama about UK-based United States Army Air Force crews during the bombing campaign against Nazi Germany. Among the cast is Elvis himself, Austin Butler. (AppleTV+)
