Chhattisgarh, renowned globally for its ancient temples, vibrant festivals, and natural beauty, is a significant destination for tourists. The state hosts a variety of festivals that draw visitors from around the world, including the world-famous Chakradhar Festival, Sirpur Festival, and Bastar Dussehra. In addition, the Chitrakote Falls, often referred to as the 'Niagara Falls of India,' is a major attraction that has gained international recognition.
Chakradhar Samaroh
Chakradhar Samaroh, a cultural landmark in Chhattisgarh, celebrates the legacy of Sangeet Samrat Maharaj Chakradhar Singh, a legendary tabla and sitar virtuoso. First organised in 1985, this festival is dedicated to the music and dance traditions of the region, featuring performances from renowned artists across India and beyond. This year's event, held from September 7th to 16th at Raigarh's Ramlila Ground, saw CMVishnu Deo Sai perform the traditional Karma dance alongside local dancers from his village. The festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Raigarh and is a key part of the state's identity. Raigarh, located 250 kilometers from Raipur, is accessible by road and rail.
