On the half-hour, Bath looked down and out but a yellow card for Gloucester skipper Lewis Ludlow gave them a foothold and increased their confidence which resulted in them scoring three tries in 11 minutes to run out deserved winners.
Gloucester head coach George Skivington said: “The yellow card for Lewis took the advantage away from us and put them right back in it.
“It’s mixed emotions as in the first half we had a great start by opening them up with some delightful stuff, some of the best we’ve played all season”.
Skivington’s comment was fair as his side abandoned their box-kicking and were rewarded with some cut-throat attacking from full-back Santiago Carreras and flying wings, Ollie Thorley and Louis Rees-Zammit.
However after Ludlow’s yellow card Gloucester rapidly imploded in the face of Bath’s limited game-plan which saw props Beno Obano and Will Stuart dominate the scrums and No.8 Miles Reid excel in the loose.
