Scarlets pay price for lack of discipline

Leading 6-3, the Scarlets had Welsh internationals Taine Plumtree and Gareth Davies yellow carded in the closing stages of the first half, reducing them to 13 men. The visitors then made hay in the sunshine, scoring two converted tries during the sin bin period early in the second half, ahead of wing Jacob Stockdale claiming the all-important fourth bonus-point try in the final quarter.

Their coach Richie Murphy said: “We made quite hard work of it in the first half and I gave the lads a bit of a rocket at half-time. With the two-man advantage, we managed to put some pressure on and got what we needed in the end. Our next game now is Leinster, so it’s a massive one.”
