The Gujarat government has urged the Finance Commission to increase the states' share of funds from the divisible pool of net tax proceeds from 41 per cent to 50 per cent. It has suggested that urbanisation, population and area of the state be considered for revenue-sharing. Highlighting that Gujarat has a rapid pace of urbanisation, the government has suggested that 7.5 per cent be allocated to it on this count.
