Gujarat ATS sources said the gold belongs to Mumbai-based Megh Shah, who is allegedly involved in illegal share trading and cricket betting. Top police sources said DSP (ATS) Shankar Chaudhary got a tip-off about gold belonging to Shah being hidden in a flat in Avishkar Apartment. "We first informed the DRI and then conducted a joint raid at the locked premise.
We forced open the lock and found the gold hidden under the bed. We are in contact with our Mumbai counterparts and DRI officials for further probe in the matter,” an ATS official said.
