At the Anant National University's (ANU) 6th Convocation on Saturday, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awardee Sudha Murty encouraged students to embrace both technology and tradition.
The Member of Parliament, author, and philanthropist urged graduates to cultivate a modern outlook while staying rooted in Indian culture. Murty, the convocation's chief guest, insisted that students should strive to improve the country by interacting with the poor, understanding their problems, and finding creative solutions.
"With your creativity you can give solutions. With creativity you can show them a better life. And, in India it does not mean software, it does not mean Bollywood, it is not only money, India means those people without your help they will perish. And, you are the catalyst in this improvement of our country. We are. I am setting sun, you have good work ethics," she said.
