SHAUN WANE would love to take on Australia at home in next year's Ashes.
Wane's England were due to head Down Under in 2025 and play an Ashes series in Australia for the first time in more than 30 years.
But it has now emerged that the Kangaroos are instead keen to tour England, something they have not done for an Ashes series since 2003, when they beat Great Britain 3-0.
Next year's tour would be against England rather than Great Britain but Wane is desperate to face the Aussies after the 2020 home Ashes series was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The England head coach, right, said: "I was brought up on Australia and New Zealand in the Seventies and Eighties.
"I remember getting the job in 2020 with an Ashes series against Australia and thinking, 'I can't believe how lucky I am'.
"Then it got cancelled and I was devastated, so to get this on again and for them to travel here would be unbelievable.
