WWA HORRIFIC two-car smash that left five people dead, including two children, and one child fighting for his life, happened after one of the vehicles was seen going the wrong way along a motorway.

Police yesterday said they had received "multiple reports" of a Skoda travelling southbound on the northbound carriageway of the M6.

Officers were on their way to the stretch of road in Cumbria when it allegedly ploughed head-on into a Toyota on Tuesday.

The male driver of the Toyota, 42, a woman passenger, 33, and two boys, 15 and seven, all from Glasgow, were pronounced dead at the scene.
