The retired teacher and her former civil servant husband David are worried about the winter ahead at home in Masham, North Yorks.
Mandy, 77, who struggles with her mobility, said: "People are scared. You don't know what they're going to come out with next. The question is, 'Why are they doing this? Are they wanting to destroy us?' "You feel like that. You just wonder why they're doing it.
