The legendary actress, best known for her roles in the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey, said she "can't believe that a lot of it has happened" as she looked back on her career.

Dame Maggie died last week aged 89.

Now, a previously unaired interview with broadcaster Gyles Brandreth has been released in which the two-time Oscar winner sheds light on her long career on stage and in film.

The interview, which was recorded during the Covid lockdown, was aired on Gyles's Rosebud podcast.
