MICHEL Roux Junior is still simmering at the BBC 10 years after he says he was forced out of MasterChef over a "Potato Gate" row.

The chef and presenter stepped down in 2014 after a dispute arose over his endorsement of a brand of spud.

Roux, 64, claims that the broadcaster questioned his integrity and he has not watched the show he "adored" since. The former Le Gavroche owner was a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals for five series from 2008, hosting alongside Gregg Wallace.

Roux quit after he engaged in a commercial partnership with a family-run business that supplied his restaurant with potatoes. It breached the BBC's editorial policy over what he branded "Potato Gate."
