As Storm Lilian blew in and looked set to ravage the country with gales of up to 80mph, the Met Office issued three yellow warnings.
One, for wind, is in place until 11am today for northern England and North Wales.
The other two are for rain in south-west Scotland and Aberdeenshire until 9am, with thunderstorms expected to dump up to two inches in some parts.
