John Tinniswood celebrates his 112th birthday today but says the secret to his longevity is just luck.
He admitted: "You either live long or you live short, and you can't do much about it." Mr Tinniswood became the world's oldest man in April but has a way to go to match the oldest living person, a Japanese woman called Tomiko Itooka, who is 116.
The war veteran now lives in a home in Southport, Merseyside.
