Celeb stylist Sorbie, who used his skills to aid cancer patients facing hair loss, dies at 75

TREVOR Sorbie trimmed the locks of stars such as Grace Jones, the Beach Boys and Dame Helen Mirren and was credited with creating the wedge cut.

But it was the stylist's opportunity to help sick people suffering from hair loss that made him most proud The Scottish-born hairdresser, who has died aged 75, began volunteering at a Surrey hospital in 2006 after stepping back from the salon.

He said he felt "really unnerved" when he was asked to cut the wig of a patient for her wedding, even though she might die before then.

"She died the next day," he recalled.
