TOWERING Tosin Adarabioyo toasted a clean sheet in his first Chelsea start by hailing two-goal Nicolas Jackson - for his defensive contribution.

The 6ft 5in centre-back, a free transfer from Fulham, was parachuted into the starting line-up alongside Levi Colwill and limited a dire West Ham to barely a whimper.

At the other end Jackson scored twice and provided the assist for Cole Palmer to make it 3-0 in an exhibition of fastbreak football.

And while Tosin naturally took greatest pleasure from not conceding, he reckoned the key was how Senegal striker Jackson defended from the front.

"It was a top performance from all of us," said Tosin.

"We're very pleased to get that clean sheet. Even Nico mentioned that it's great to get a clean sheet.

"It starts up front and goes all the way back to Rob [Sanchez, the goalkeeper] and vice versa for the goals.
