ANDY MURRAY will undergo back surgery today in a late bid to be fit for a farewell appearance at Wimbledon.

The Scot, 37, limped out of the cinch Championships on Wednesday with "neural pain" in his back which caused a "loss of coordination".

And after scans yesterday, Murray has now decided to undergo a "procedure" to enable him to appear at his home Grand Slam, which starts on July 1.

His management company said: "Andy is having a procedure on his back tomorrow. We will know more after this has taken place." The world No.129 admitted he did not know if he would be fit for SW19 after retiring after only 23 minutes against Jordan Thompson.
