FEARS of all-out war in the Middle East were last night growing after Israel launched huge air strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Military chiefs claim yesterday's blitz with 100 jets was a pre-emptive attack at missile sites where militants were plotting to hit Israel minutes later.
Hezbollah earlier fired hundreds of rockets. Israel is braced for a retaliation and Benjamin Netanyahu said his strikes were "not the end of the story".
The Mirror witnessed a Hezbollah missile being blasted from the sky over northern Israel in the hours before the dawn raid in Lebanon and also saw the Hezbollah barrage first-hand. We had been staying with British Israelis who had fled the frontline for the Golan Heights - but have since faced terrifying nightly attacks from across the border.
