A LABOUR MP was suspended last night after footage appeared to show him punching a man.
Mike Amesbury was seen in the video seemingly striking the man during the altercation in the early hours of Saturday.
A CCTV clip shows the backbencher - an MP since 2017 - swinging his left hand at the other man.
The footage as seen by the Mirror does not show the pair's conversation in the lead-up to the alleged punch.
After it was published, a Labour spokesman said: "Mike Amesbury has been assisting Cheshire Police with their inquiries following an incident.
