DUZZA: THREE WORLD CHAMPS FACING THE CUT

And when the 2025 line-up is announced next week, up to half of the 2024 eight-man field could miss the cut.

Durrant is the three-time former Lakeside world champion who won the Premier League at the first attempt in 2020 - and then collected the wooden spoon without winning a single game the following year.

Now a shrewd Sky Sports commentator and darts coach, 'Duzza' (right) says Michael Smith and Peter Wright face the chop this year - and Gerwyn Price's place will be a close call.

Durrant said: "As I found out, the Premier League is a shop window for the highs and lows of darts.

"I went from the unbelievable high of winning it in my first year to the bottom of the pile 12 months later.

"Playing in front of up to 12,000 people every week, in almost a rockstar environment, is an experience you can't describe, but this year's field is incredibly hard to call.
