JAKE WARDLE'S wonder-try inspired a second-half comeback to see champions Wigan replace Warrington Wolves as Super League leaders.

Warriors have never lost three successive games under head coach Matt Peet - but until Wardle's lengthof-the-field classic against his boyhood club, it looked a distinct possibility.

The one-time Cowbell Army favourite plucked Olly Russell's kick out of the air, shrugged off two tackles and raced nearly 100 metres to touch down.

Back in the game Wigan added further tries from Ryan Hampshire, Jai Field and Zach Eckersley.
