FRIGHTENED? YES... 100%

SIR Alex Ferguson has opened up about his fear of getting dementia as he revealed he does quizzes to keep his mind sharp.

The former Manchester United boss also admitted missing his old job, after retiring 11 years ago.

But Sir Alex, 82, said he enjoys reading and makes sure he regularly tests his brain after several other footballing legends died with dementia.

England heroes Nobby Stiles, Sir Bobby Charlton and his brother Jack Charlton were all diagnosed before their deaths.

In an interview about his work with a dementia charity Sir Alex was asked if the disease frightens him.

He said: "I'm 82, obviously I worry about it.

"Generally, my memory is quite good and touch wood it will stay that way.

"But I worry about it, 100%. I'd be lying if I said anything different.

"I read a lot, I do quizzes a lot and I think that helps.

"You have those YouTube quizzes, 100 questions. I think if I don't get to 70% I'm struggling."
