THOUSANDS of Brits on holiday in the US were last night in the path of devastating storm Hurricane Milton.
Winds topped 140mph as it churned across the Gulf of Mexico ahead of hitting land in Florida.
Tourists in places such as Orlando are set to feel the storm's wrath as it barrels its way through the area.
Florida's governor Ron DeSantis said there will be deaths, adding of the hurricane: "It is going to bring a lot of ferocity" Urging people to follow the advice to evacuate areas due to bear the brunt, he said: "You still have time to make decisions to ensure your safety.
"If you get 10ft of storm surge, you can't just hunker down. Mother nature is going to win that fight." He added: "Unfortunately, there will be fatalities when you have storm surge that will be 10ft." A state of emergency has been declared in Florida.

Forecasters said the hurricane could hit land slightly south of Tampa on Florida's west coast, before heading towards Orlando.
