MORE than 10,000 protesters descended on London to voice their anger at the proposed family farm tax.
Amid a sea of tweed and wax jackets, hot-under-the-collar farmers warned of direct action.
Some believe strikes - and the threat of empty shelves - may be what is needed to force Chancellor Rachel Reeves to cancel the planned changes to death duties that she announced in the Budget.
TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who bought a farm in 2008 which now features in a TV series, told the crowd: "A lot of people in all walks of life took a kick on the shin with that Budget... you lot got a knee in the nuts and a hammer blow to the back of the head."
Separately, he was riled up by BBC Newsnight host Victoria Derbyshire quizzing him on his comments in 2021 about tax benefits of buying a farm.
She questioned why he was at the rally, asking: "So it's not about you? It's not about your farm and the fact that you bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax?" Mr Clarkson fumed: "Typical BBC.
You people." He then added he bought the farm to take part in country sports such as shooting.
