Israel hits 'safe zone'

ISRAEL wiped out entire families of Palestinian refugees in an air raid on a "safe zone" yesterday.

At least 40 people died and 60 were injured in the attack on Al-Mawasi camp in Gaza, which was designated by the Israel Defence Forces as a humanitarian zone for civilians.

The killings took the Gaza death toll to 41,020 since October 7.

First responders and refugees were sifting through the sand and rubble with garden tools and their bare hands looking for remains.
