Major: Rwanda plan is odious and un-British

THE Rwanda migrant scheme was worse than Britain sending convicts to Australia, ex-PM John Major has said.

The former Tory leader lashed out at the "odious" plan, blasting it as "un-Conservative, un-British, un-Christian and unconscionable".

He added: "It is not the way to treat people." James Cleverly and Robert Jenrick both want to resurrect the scheme if they are elected Tory leader later this year.

But Sir John compared axed by Labour the plan PM Keir Starmer when he took office with the deportation of more than 160,000 Brits to Australia between 1788 and 1868.
