ISRAEL will hit Iranian military sites in its forthcoming revenge attack, it has been claimed.

But officials have told the US they do not foresee strikes on Tehran's nuclear sites or oil plants, reports say.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu apparently said warplanes will go in before the US election on November 5.

It is also believed the blitz will be the first in a "series of reactions" to Iran's 200-strong missile strike on the Jewish state on October 1.

The assault plans emerged as Washington issued its strongest warning yet to Israel over its Gaza offensive.

The letter gives Mr Netanyahu 30 days to boost urgent humanitarian aid access to the Strip or face having some US military assistance cut off.

But it did not stop the Americans arriving with a top-of-the-range antiballistic missile system in Israel, along with troops to operate it.
