Mo's heartbreak

SIR Mo Farah told of his heartbreak at seeing the devastating impact of climate change on starving children in his birthplace Somaliland.

The Olympic legend met mothers and their poorly offspring at a health centre run by Save the Children.

Sir Mo, 41, visited Gabiley, a region of northwestern Somalia, with the charity.

He heard how recurring droughts and floods had made it difficult for mothers to feed their families.

Some mothers had to leave their malnourished children behind as they travelled long distances to the hospital to secure care for them.

Father-of-four Sir Mo said: "It's absolutely heartbreaking to see children in these conditions through no fault of their own. I can't imagine having to leave any of my children behind to find treatment for another one - it's an impossible choice.
