A MAJORITY of people support changing the law on assisted dying.
A poll said 57% agree with legalising assisted dying, while 27% neither agree nor disagree, and 16% disagree.
Support was consistent across party lines. Some 58% of Labour and Tory voters, 63% of Lib Dem and 59% of Reform UK supporters back changes.
A total of 68% agree they support reforms but only with strong protections.
But 21% say they agree with the statement: "I fully oppose legalising assisted dying." It comes as a bill to allow terminally ill people to end their lives was formally introduced to Parliament yesterday.
