Mum had 32 falls in 11 months in care home ... it was devastating

THE daughter of a care home resident who allegedly fell 32 times in a year wrote to social services fearing her mum was going to die.

Dementia patient Winifred Tubb is said to have had dozens of falls in the 11 months before her death aged 78.

Her daughter, Kylie Gobin, claimed: "She suffered neglect in every way - it was devastating to see".

Five different families are now taking legal action against St Luke's care home in Runcorn, Cheshire.

It comes as statistics from the Care Quality Commission analysed by the BBC show more than 2,500 care homes across England "require improvement".

A further 194 care homes are rated as "inadequate" by the regulator.
