POLICE SHOOTING 'UNJUSTIFIABLE'

A MET Police marksman's decision to shoot and kill Chris Kaba was not reasonably justified or justifiable, a court heard yesterday.

Tom Little KC told jurors it was not necessary for firearms officer Martyn Blake to "fire a bullet into Chris Kaba's head" as he sat in an Audi with his hands on the steering wheel.

Instead, he implored a jury to consider if Blake had become "angry, frustrated and annoyed" after Chris had not obeyed his requests as police tried to stop his vehicle.

Blake, 40, is accused of murdering rapper Chris, 27, on September 5, 2022.

Jurors at the Old Bailey were told Blake was the lead firearms officer deployed to intercept the Audi after they received intelligence that it was linked to an earlier gunshot incident.
