Israel attacks on Gaza raze homes

A FAMILY flees the rubble of their home yesterday after Israeli forces again pounded the Gaza Strip.

A woman and two men were seen climbing out of the family home in the city of Deir al Balah, before the ruins were searched for others.

Further south, IDF helicopter gunships and warplanes carried out attacks on the city of Rafah and street battles raged.

Israeli infantry troops also stormed a Rafah apartment hunting for Hamas operatives. The IDF said: "Troops eliminated a number of terrorists and located large quantities of weapons and underground tunnel shafts. A number of explosive devices, as well as Hamas terrorist infrastructure sites, were located and destroyed by IDF ground troops.
