THE King's first visit to Australia as its head of state is being called The Farewell Oz Tour by republicans.

The Australian Republican Movement said Charles and Camilla's six-day trip, which starts on Friday, is the "chance to wave goodbye to royal reign".

Australia's six state premiers are snubbing a reception for the royals in Canberra on Monday. Three claim they have cabinet meetings, a fourth an election campaign, a fifth a US trade mission and the sixth "other commitments".
