Syria rebel killed

RUSSIAN-backed air strikes yesterday killed the leader of the terrorist group who conquered Syria's second largest city.

Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani died as Syrian president Bashar al Assad, with help from Vladimir Putin, fought back following Saturday's insurgency.

The wanted terrorist, who had a $10million bounty on his head from the US, was the leader of Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

Assad gave the go-ahead for air strikes in rebel-held Idlib yesterday.

Observers said at least four civilians, including two children, were killed in the city, 35 miles from Aleppo.
