TORIES IN FREEFALL

RISHI Sunak's Tories were in freefall last night as a poll put the party barely ahead of right-wing newcomer Reform.

With his election gamble backfiring, the rattled t PM attempted to shake off panic in the Conservative ranks amid fears of a Tory wipeout on July 4.

The Tory leader said: "We're only halfway through this election, right?

"So I'm still fighting very hard for every vote." The Mirror's weekly election poll found Tory support falling to a meagre 19%, three points down on last week, with the Nigel Farageled Reform UK just behind on 17%.

Last week our survey showed the Tories had a six-point lead over Reform, formed in 2018.

Meanwhile, Labour is on 41%, the 22-point lead over the Conservatives putting Keir Starmer on course for a landslide victory.
