Transplant plea as youngest patient waits for a heart

PARENTS of the youngest person waiting for a heart transplant in Britain have urged families to consider organ donation.

William Jones is 11 weeks old and currently on life support, with his only chance of survival being a suitable donor.

He was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy when he was a few weeks old. His heart muscle is thin and stretched, and cannot function well enough to pump blood around his body.
